David Lachapelle's "After The Flood" Exhibition in Rome! (eng-it)

Today I went to the Palazzo delle Esposizioni to see David Lachapelle, back in Rome after about 15 years with a new exhibition entitled "After the flood."

The photos are really impressing. How is the land After The Flood. I dare say a sort of great flood since the wide use of religious themes.

At the entrance there were portrait under water, and going up to the first floor there were the most famous portraits. I thought there were many more pictures (the photos not included in the exhibition can be found as a postcard in the bookshop) but maybe that's me, I just don't have enough xD 

The photo that I expected more of all to see was "Archangel Michael: And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer" made in 2009. It represents Michael Jackson as the Archangel Michael with his hands in prayer, treading on the devil. 

I din't had great expectations... but GIGANTIC about this photo xD Well... the photo was tiny. 

Why put a picture so small for a such great meaning?

Ok, yes. the theme is different (The Flood) but... we're talking about Michael Jackson ç_ç David Lachapelle loves and admire Michael Jackson!

(NOTA ITA: per chi non lo sapesse la persona ritratta non è Michael Jackson. DLINDLON so che per qualcuno sarà un trauma xD ma è un sosia, e si chiama Carlo Riley, è il sosia più somigliante che ci sia. Il viso è stato comunque ritoccato, perché la foto è datata 2009 mentre le sembianze del volto ricordano quelle del 1988 Bad Era) I'll rewrite in English: in the picture is Carlo Riley.

This picture is bad because only at the end of the exhibition I found that, coincidentally, I COULDN'T TAKE PHOTOS ç_ç I have taken some before anyway xD

Festival dell'Oriente (a late post!)

Hello peopleeeeee! Long time no see yeee? xD LOL

This time I want to talk about... The Festival of the East! (Festival dell'Oriente) Yeah!

Needless to say I asked some opinions, they have all told me that I should not go there because I would have absolutely lost time, that it was boring, nothing to do with the really "Atmosphere of the East"... but as usual I've done my own thing... and I was right!! Because I had lots of fun!

We start from the fact that it was focused on the Orient in general, then India (especially), China, Tibet, Japan etc etc...

So in one of the halls (I can't remember what was sorry but there were 3 or 4 halls in total) there was a stage where every day there were traditional songs and dances. I remember especially the belly dancing, dance Odissi, ikebana (the Japanese art of arranging cut flowers), the shaman who made us do the dance of happiness, and the tea ceremony (which I photographed, scroll down to see the photos!) 

We entered in the hall of the Oriental Bazaar, where I could taste the typical food of Tibet and Morocco and where I bought three types of fabulous tea (my favorite is apple and kiwi, what I will do when it ends?!)

Going further down I will describe all the pictures ... the post is not finished!

The mandala of peace handmade by Tibetan monks. Let me tell you the story xD we arrived late to the breaking of the mandala and there were too many people in line (when it breaks mixes and give the powder)

Earlier in the middle of the twenty-plus stalls singing bowls stands we saw a gentleman who, with his ability, convinced us to buy three of them for each chakra (before you criticize us... we know how to use the singing bowls! XD) we picked up the dust just one for all, when suddenly arrives the seller of the bells that greets us and says "you want more dust?" enters the stand to help monks and fills us with other 4 sachets. I loved it.

So after I ate the tibetan food, bought handmade singing bowls, incense, tea, as well as a new rose quartz (quartz is my stone) to bring along.
There were two full and beautiful days, there was an atmosphere of peace in there... it will have been all that incense? :D

Frills Of Rome first meeting!

I know, every time I repeat the same thing.. it's passed time since I don't write something! xD But if I don't have interesting things (at least for me) to write, then I'd prefer to not write at all.

Last week there was the GothLoli meetup that I organized, and I had lots of fun! Honestly I did not think had so much success, came a lot of people, and all have been good.

I brought the camera to do some videos, and I do not tell you what came out xDD I spent two whole nights to assembly them, but at the end I was able to make two short films, pure Roman-style Lolita xD 

For the occasion, I finally wore the new Angelic Pretty dress (renamed from Eleonora: unicorns beheaded on the wall xD) themed alchemy.

We met all in Flaminio, I immediately turned on the camera to film the outfits of the participants; Eleonora had a wonderful black'n white style pirate/circus lolita (and her red hair that I love) Marta wore the Ragnarok skirt Viking Lolita style (of course!) Priscilla wore a Krad Lanrete black dress with a cape with hood (which I have renamed Black Riding Hood u__u) Valentina a Sailor Moon themed dress, Demi a gothic stained glass outfit, Silvia a simple goth outfit, Giulia a pink and blue bittersweet outfit, and Pernilla had a bodyline coord mint-colored with bears and baloons.

Soon after, we went in Villa Borghese for the picnic. Needless to say I forgot the sandwiches cucumber! But there really was a lot of stuff to eat and drink. We gossiped, talked, laughed... we made also some photo shoots with Claudio Palmieri & Davide Santoro it was really a beautiful day that I can not wait to repeat! 

We were so well that we decided to open a community. Et voila. Follow FrillsOfRome! We have our YoutubeChannel (don't expect to find serious video xD  we'll talk about Lolita Fashion in our way xD), FacebookPage, and Tumblr! The idea is to create videos and events on Lolita's Comm in Rome :)

Festa della donna?

Sono basita dagli Stati AGGHIACCIANTI che sto leggendo oggi sulla mia home di Facebook. Roba tipo "auguri donne oggi avete la scusa per poter fare le zoccole!" 90% da parte degli uomini. Uomini che pensano ancora che la donna serva solo a soddisfare le loro voglie sessuali, uomini che pensano ancora che la donna serva solo a pulire la casa e a procreare figli, uomini che alla minima cosa non perdono tempo per insultare alla peggio le donne con parole come "puttana" (il maschile non esiste), uomini che non ci pensano più di una volta a mettere le mani addosso ad una donna, che devono imporre la propria mascolinità, e che credono di vivere ancora nel medioevo. Volete festeggiare le donne? Ammazza che coerenza! 

In ogni caso; auguri a tutte le donne che sono cadute e si sono rialzate, che ce l'hanno fatta da sole, le ragazze madri, tutte le vittime di violenze/abusi etc, donne che amano altre donne, mamme e figlie ma anche auguri agli Uomini con la U maiuscola perché so che anche voi esistete (e io ne conosco alcuni!!) e che trattate le donne con il rispetto e l'amore che meritano.

English and Italian blog!

I am back! How are you all?

I was thinking of writing my blog in both languages, English and Italian, because some of you have written to me showing me your disappointment... (I understand you, I'm sorry for that <.< But I chose to write in English to make it more "private..." I mean, I'm not looking for sponsors, shares or comments, for that I prefer to write in English. But from now on I will write the translation under the post in English or Italian, it depends.)

Things are going pretty well, soon I will update you on my projects and the things I'm doing right now!

I am happy because after I devoured everything and more at my double birthday I started (seriously) the diet and I see the results, especially from clothes :D the scale to see the lost pounds is broken and I can't control xD but I think is a sign of destiny... that tells me "relax, you're doing a great job, don't be obsessed!!" So I think to something else, reading, writing and taking pictures xD

Eccomi tornata! Come state tutti?

Stavo pensando di scrivere il mio blog in entrambe le lingue, inglese e italiano, perché alcuni di voi mi avete scritto mostrandomi il vostro disappunto... (vi capisco, mi dispiace per questo <.< ma ho scelto di scriverlo in inglese proprio per renderlo più "privato..." mi spiego; non sono in cerca di sponsor, condivisioni o commenti, per questo preferisco scriverlo in inglese. Ma d'ora in poi scriverò la traduzione sotto il post in inglese.)

Le cose vanno abbastanza bene, a breve vi aggiornerò sui miei progetti e sulle cose che sto facendo in questo momento!

Sono felice perché dopo essermi divorata di tutto e di più al mio doppio compleanno ho ricominciato (seriamente) la dieta e i risultati si vedono, sopratutto dai vestiti :D la bilancia per vedere i chili persi si è rotta xD e non posso controllare xD ma credo sia un segno del destino... che mi dice "rilassati, stai facendo un ottimo lavoro, non ossessionarti!!" Così penso ad altro, leggendo, scrivendo e scattando foto xD

25 years old.

I'm 25! And I feel better than before.

I celebrated my 25th in three days, with great friends and I received beautiful gifts *.* First of all... thanks to everyone, really <3

I visited three times the exhibition "The costumes of Dreams" (which is under my house) where there are all the costumes made for the most successful films (see Milena Canonero). Useless to say that when I saw those of Marie Antoinette, The Great Beauty, Casanova and The Gattopardo I have gone mad *.* Are all wonderful! (And the actresses are so so skinny :O)

After the exhibition, me and my friend went to the pastry shop Bakery House for a tea with friends, and I got my beautiful personalized Red Velvet (with pink roses as decoration, made with cream cheese and butter) to eat the next day with friends. Really a wonderful birthday, I'm so happy! Thanks to everybody <3
